Item Description
A very sculptural and rare large two-sided plate of arborescent crystallized copper from the famous mines at Bisbee. Dendritic spinel-twins comprise this artistic piece. The slight folding adds a striking 3-dimensional aspect, that enhances the rich patina. Plate copper is an uncommon style from this renowned locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 30 and certainly acquired in the 1950s or earlier. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A must for the Bisbee or species collector.
