Item Description

A superlative sharply crystallized and IRIDESCENT 1.8 cm copper "scepter" is dramatically set on this exceptional old-time well-crystallized floater copper specimen from the famous mines at Bisbee. The body of the ornamented rod is a spinel-twin with a striking sharp rare copper dodecahedron "jewel" at the top. The rest of the aesthetic flattened arborescent two-sided small cabinet has more scattered iridescence and is composed of elongated spinel-twins, a few more scepters and many sharp to rounded tetrahexahedrons or dodecahedrons. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. He acquired the piece from Jim Minette, a well-known California collector and dealer (label included). An important, aesthetic, old and rare style of crystallized copper from Bisbee. Valued ???
