Item Description

A sculptural two-sided freeform mass of sharp copper tetrahexahedrons with a bright patina is embedded in quartz and is aesthetically attached to the matrix sliver of basalt and quartz. The copper has been mechanically removed from the quartz and this piece is from recent finds. Copper mining only lasted about 10 years here, from 1897 to 1907. See: http://nsminerals.atspace.com/CapeD%27Or.html. An extremely attractive matrix copper from the locale with very sharp bright crystals.
