Item Description

A beautiful and intricate nested cluster of rich, bright yellow gold crystals with matrix from the famous but remote mines in the jungle of New Guinea. Crystal types include hoppered octahedrons, octahedons and spinel-twins. The coup de grace of this stunning piece is the scepter of spinel-twins topped with two fabulous, hoppered octahedrons measuring 7 mm (golden diamonds). Specimens are seldom available from this locale. This is an older piece, circa 1980s or 90s from the Hubert de Monmonier and University of Arizona Collections.
