Item Description

Some of the finest quality, most attractive and impressive Opals to appear on the market in recent years are those that have come form South Wollo area in Ethiopia. The best of these gems rival some of the top Mexican or Australian stones for color, gemminess and the ever popular multi-color effect. This "Freeform Cabochon" cut gem has a beautiful crystal white color in the body of the stone in reflected light, and it shows the highly desirable and seldom seen multi-color flash with a beautiful rainbow-like array of color ! Now the color flash is best seen in sunlight or with a strong flashlight against a black background, and this stone was photographed under a strong flashlight to show the color flash. When strongly lit, this stone shows flashes of red, pink, orange, gold, yellow and green. Internally, the stone is very gemmy which allows the play of color to really dance around. It's a very attractive stone, and would make a great piece of jewelry, or would stand on its own as a beautiful gem. Valued $2,030.00 retail.
