Item Description
The best known specimens of Cryolite are those from Ivigtut, Greenland, but they're very rarely gem quality. This rare sodium aluminum halide is only found in a handful of worldwide localities, and to the best of my knowledge, the only gem material is from Greenland. The colorless "Freeform" gem in this set is a very good representation of facet grade Cryolite, and the accompanying piece of white opaque rough is a typical piece of Cryolite from this famous locality. It's incredibly rare to get your hands on a rough and cut set of Cryolite, so don't pass up this chance, as it may not come along again for quite some time. Priced at $850 in our inventory.
