Cryolite (rare halide) - OLD Colorado find!

Cryolite is an ultra-rare halide and this ultra-rare old-timer is from St. Peters Dome, El Paso County, Colorado! Moderately lustrous and translucent, light gray, columnar-jointed, massive cryolite comprises this entire specimen. Iron oxides give the piece character. Extremely rare on the market. I have never seen a Colorado cryolite and we have no idea of its value, but it is a significant and very rare specimen. Comes with an expertly handwritten, faded label from an older collection. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I.
