Item Description
From the locality that is the namesake for the species Kutnahorite (Kutnohorite), here we have a VERY hard to find piece of the iron oxide, Cronstedtite. This piece is EASILY 100 years old as I can only find comparable specimens that were mined around the turn of the 20th century, and I've honestly only seen a few of them over the years. Somewhat radial or "fan"-like groups of dark green Cronstedite can be seen covering the underlying host rock matrix. If you collect Czech or European classics, don't miss out on this beautiful and highly elusive specimen from this classic old locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5609). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
