Crocoite (Rukin Jelks Coll.)

Item Description

A very aesthetic thumbnail from the famous Red Lead Mine of Tasmania. Two, diverging, stout, glassy, translucent, highly lustrous, rich reddish-orange crocoite crystals are dramatically accented by the small crocoite "bridge". Complete all-around, the terminations of the large crystals were contacted against the vug walls. These older, desirable specimens from the Red Lead Mine are much stouter compared to the major recent finds at the nearby Adelaide Mine. This classic and excellent cutie is from the Rukin Jelks Collection, a very well-known Arizona rancher and collector, who passed away in 2014.
