Item Description

A wonderful and hard to find specimen of the classic pieces of Crocoite from the TYPE LOCALITY in Russia! This specimen hosts rich orange-red color, sharp crystals of Crocoite on host rock matrix. This piece comes from an old East Coast collection and is accompanied by a label from the famous and recently deceased mineral dealer in New York City, Larry Conklin. This piece more dates back over 100 years, and to have a piece from the type locality for the species is noteworthy. The crystals look beautiful under magnification, and we've photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality.
