Item Description
Were it not for the world-class Crocoite specimens from Tasmania, there would not be very many examples available for collectors on the market. Additionally, I don't think a lot of people would be terribly familiar with the species. Undoubtedly, the most impressive crystals of Crocoite have been found in Tasmania at localities like the famous Red Lead Mine. Here we have a nice small cabinet sized piece featuring classic, sharp, lustrous, prismatic crystals of Crocoite with that iconic electric orange-red color measuring up to 1.0 cm on oxidized matrix. Minor roughness, but it's a nice example of this older material from the Red Lead Mine dating back to the 1970s. From the collection of Sean Lincoln.
