Glassy, gemmy, highly lustrous, reddish-orange, crocoite crystals to 3.0 cm in a striking jackstraw pattern richly and aesthetically cover the very sturdy gossan matrix on this very showy and highly representative specimen from the famous Red Lead Mine of Tasmania. These crystals have exceptionally high gemminess and glassiness! Excellent older material from the from the Al Ordway Collection # 3515 and acquired in 2006 in a trade with Derek Murray, according to his label. Valued at $900-1200 today.
