Creedite (superb color)

When it comes to Creedite, the Navidad (Rodeo) Mine is Mexico has produced a good number of superbly crystallized specimens. The size, quality and color of the crystals on these pieces is truly impressive, and they don't get enough credit in my mind for how good they are. This piece is a fantastic example of the newer material that has come out featuring radial "bursts" of rich orange colored, "sword"-shaped crystals, with the largest individual crystal measuring 1.3 cm long. The larger "ball" of crystals is actually attached to a smaller radial cluster of Creedites, and I honestly cant only see a small point of attachment on the bottom, so the piece is nearly a complete "floater". Great quality all around, with very little damage. The stunning orange color is unique to this material, and these pieces might still be too fresh on the market, but one day they will go down as some of the most important specimens found in Mexico in the last few decades. Valued at $1,500 in the inventory.
