Item Description

Mineral specimens from this obscure Nye County mine are rare. Two generations of glassy creedite crystals reachly cover the quartz matrix on this showy rarity. The recessed band in the center has tiny pretty lavender crystals with the secondary layer of larger, gemmy, near-colorless crystals to 4 mm at the top. The accompanying dealer label indicates the white powdery material around the creedite is gearksutite, which is VERY RARE from here (MINDAT does not list the species). Choice material from the Eugene Carmichael Collection.
