Item Description

This locality specimen from Mexico was a surprise: A HIGHLY unusual combination piece, featuring a soft pastel lavender coverage of flat laying creedite crystals, perched on aragonite, itself covering a thick layer of fluorite! To be honest, I doubted this was legit when I first saw it, never having seen one of these crazy combination specimens, but research online shows that pale pink/purple creedite is reported here, including this specimen in the Peter Megaw collection, also associated with fluorite: https://www.mindat.org/photo-1118797.html. I have seen hundreds of orange creedite, some few with fluorite. This, though, was a surprise. This display quality small cabinet piece is donated by collector Juan Angel Tort Figueroa in Mexico, from his collection, to support the Mineralogical Record.
