Item Description
One of the newer Creedites from the Rodeo Mine featuring very sharp, lustrous, classic orange colored crystals in radial "ball" formation which are sitting on an unusual yet colorful section of banded Fluorite. The Creedite "spray" measures 3.7 cm at its widest dimension. When backlit, the Fluorite shows colors ranging from blue to purple to green. The topmost portion of the Fluorite has a strange somewhat "frosted" etched appearance, similar to the top of a snowcone. The Fluorite is not what I would call crystallized, and obviously it's contacted around the bottom, but it's really unique and it's not common to see Creedite ON Fluorite as opposed to the other way around. Creedite is actually named after the town of Creede in Colorado, where it was first discovered, but other world discoveries later were much more significant, so people don't associate this species with Colorado often. This piece is quite beautiful with rich coloration. Valued at $800.
