Item Description
Although Creedite is probably best known from a few localities in Mexico, the type locality for the species is actually in Colorado (near the town of Creede). With that said, some of the most colorful specimens of Creedite from Colorado are the limited contemporary pieces that came out of the massive Henderson molybdenum mine near Berthoud Pass. What makes these specimens significant is the attractive color along with the fact that it's nearly impossible to get ANY specimens from this locality, since it operates 24 hours a day, and production never stops to allow people to collect specimens. This piece features gorgeous, sparkling, radiating groups of lilac colored Creedite measuring up to 6 mm on matrix. Hard to find on the market today, and a must have for any fan of Colorado minerals. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California.
