Creedite (beautiful color)

Creedite is not considered a rare mineral, but it's not terribly easy to find in good sized display specimens. The piece from the Navidad (Rodeo) Mine in Mexico are second to none in terms of quality and production on a worldwide scale. The impressive size of the specimens from this locality combined with the distinctive rare orange color makes them some of the best examples ever found. This piece is a fantastic specimen of the newer material that has come out featuring a radial "burst" of beautiful orange colored, "sword"-shaped crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm long. It should be noted that some of the crystals have a lighter hue, and range to nearly colorless / white in areas. There are only two small points of attachment, so the piece is nearly a complete "floater". Great quality all around, with no major damage that I can see with the naked eye. The wonderful and rarely seen orange color does not get the credit it deserves as these specimens might still be too fresh and abundant on the market, but one day they will go down as some of the most important specimens found in Mexico in the last few decades.
