These were mined prior to 1850. This beautiful and historic specimen is composed of semi-"rosette" / "fan"-shaped crystals of radiating cCvellite that are intergrown with golde Pyrite. The iridescent, neon blue and purple color along with the lustrous Pyrite makes this an eye-catching specimen of this classic material from Sardinia. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1950). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-time association specimen from this famous locale.
