Summitville, Colorado covellite of this quality is rarer than Butte covellite and is considered by many to be the finest covellite in the world. This superb thumbnail specimen features very rare, discrete plates of iridescent, peacock-blue, covellite crysals richly and aesthetically set on matrix. Nearly all Summitville covellites we have offered at auction have had intergrown plates. Very, very few broken crystals on this cutie. Certainly nothing to detraction, as you can see.
