Item Description

This is a great reference specimen of Covellite from Butte featuring large, classic, bladed crystal cleavages to 5.3cm across! Large Covellite crystals of any type from any locality are difficult to obtain. Bladed crystals have the distinctive and lovely, iridescent, blue-purple hue for the species. Cleaved, this is basically "really high grade ore" and not a crystal - but still interesting as a historical piece. Tom Campbell collection
