Covellite (ex Soregaroli Collection)

Item Description

Butte is famous for producing some of the most beautiful sulfides specimens from anywhere in the United States. You don't see nearly as many Butte Covellites on the market anymore, and they will always hold their own on a worldwide scale. Here we have an older, classic condition specimen from Butte. Several of sharp, lustrous bladed/foliated iridescent blue-purple crystals sit on matrix. Some of the crystals are contacted, but there are a few on the top/back that are undamaged. The largest crystal measures 8 mm. From the collection of Art Soregaroli.
