Item Description

Iridescent, magenta and peacock-blue covellite covers this essentially solid LARGE CABINET specimen of covellite from the famous Leonard Mine at Butte. Stringers of bright, brassy, pyrite microcrystals are a very nice accent. The label with the piece indicates that it was collected in 1942! Very rich copper ore for the war effort! Super representative, large and very rich covellite from this well-known locale. Hefty at 2.9 pounds or just over 1.3 kilos. Ex Tarnowski Collection.
