Item Description
Cotunnite is rare lead-chloride and is the alteration product of galena under arid, saline conditions. This rich, old-time specimen is from the famous Type Locality. Translucent, pastel-yellow, globules of cotunnite are richly strewn along the crest of the wedge of basalt matrix. It comes with an expertly written, faded accession label from an old museum collection we traded into (dating to prior to World War I). Highly desirable and uncommnon. This is an exceptionally rich specimen of the species.
