Item Description

Exceptional 3.4 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm sharp, lustrous, translucent scalenohredal calcite is a nice calcite for a locality but the real treasure here is the amazing and refined crystal of the rare species, Cosalite, perfectly perched upon the aesthetic calcite. From William W. Pinch (Pittsford, New York), with label, and a previous (?) Kaiser (Vienna, Austria) label, and price “$350-“on backside of Pinch label from over a decade ago. A sharp specimen which uniquely displays fine crystals of this rare species. Recently published in Mineralogical Record, Refined Elegance: The Small Treasures of Mineralogy, November 2022.
