Item Description

Cosalite is an uncommon lead, bismuth sulfosalt, and this very fine specimen is from the well-known Kara-Oba locality. These delicate and beautiful sprays of metallic Cosalite needles average over 1.5 cm, with individual needles reaching over 3 cm. The aesthetics are outstanding, and the best part of the specimen is that the Cosalite crystals are free-standing and not lying flat against the matrix. These specimens were available on the market decades ago, but no longer. Originally priced at $375 in the late 1990s, this piece is off of the specimen in the Smithsonian, trimmed off in exchange apparently for dealer Dudley Blauwet to sell to this collector. Easily $1000 to more, today. HAND DELIVERY ONLY is possible with this specimen to shows or people accessible by our friends from shows.
