Item Description

A rarely seen Sapphire crystal from the Ilmen Mountains of Russia. This doubly-terminated, near "floater" crystal has good luster, well-formed faces and no major damage, though there are a a couple of indentations where there is incomplete growth, but it's not broken. On the surface in reflected light, the color is a blue shade, but despite the relative thickness of the piece, it's actually somewhat gemmy inside and shows more of a silvery-lavender hue inetrnally. A really good example of this seldom-seen material. Specimen weight is 37.52 grams.
