Item Description
A seldom-seen matrix Ruby specimen from the Kola Peninsula in Russia featuring a sharp, lustrous, translucent, purplish-red hexagonal crystal measuring 9 mm sitting on Calcite and schist matrix. The crystal is fully terminated, though there is a small amount of embedded Calcite. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only piece of this specific material that we've had to offer in the auctions. If you collect minerals from the Kola Peninsula, Russian minerals or worldwide Corundum, don't miss out on this one. Strong red fluorescence under LW UV light.
