Item Description

A great matrix thumbnail for this locality, here we have a beautiful gemmy pink and purple Sapphire crystal measuring 1.3 cm sitting on schist matrix. The crystal is not damaged, but it does have a slightly irregular growth on one side where it was contacted against the pocket wall. The rest of the crystal shows fine quality, sharp, lustrous, smooth well-formed faces. From the discovery in 2008, which produced a small number of fine quality and eye-catching specimens. A great piece to add to a Corundum suite, or a thumbnail collection. From the worldwide thumbnail / miniature collection of Irv Brown.
