Item Description

Superbly crystallized, waxy-lustrous sapphire crystals of the likes you rarely see, aesthetically set atop biotite schist matrix. The large crystal measures 2.0 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm, and the crystals have superb luster, and deep bluish-purple color with reddish highlights and translucence that are excellent. The cross-hatched patterns on the sides and sharp flat terminations adds beauty and interest. This is one of the better ones we have seen from this striking recent find and the piece looks great from either side. Most of these came out years ago, and we get few now.
