Corundum var: Sapphire

Item Description

A unique group of grey-blue colored Sapphire crystals from the little known Baw Mar Mine. The specimen is nearly complete all around (it's almost a "floater", save one small contact on he base) with excellent hexagonal crystal form, and it's even doubly-terminated! The crystals is even a tiny bit translucent on the edges when backlit. There are several localities around Mogok for Ruby crystals, but good sized blue Sapphires are much less common to find on my market in my experience. Specimen weight 15.79 grams. Valued $950.
