Corundum var: Ruby (classic old-time locality)

This thumbnail specimen is an incredibly hard to find, excellent quality, old classic example of the famous Propst Farm Rubies featuring a sharp, lustrous, euhedral hexagonal prism with a gentle brownish-pink color. The piece is in very good shape, and is actually doubly-terminated, so it's nearly a complete "floater". This is one of the best examples I've seen from Propst Farm due to its size and the fact that it's quite sharp (most of the bigger crystals can be crude and distorted), and would make a fine addition to any thumbnail suite, a collection of gem crystals or specimens from the United States.
