For both size and quality, this is one of the very best examples of the recently found Corundum specimens from Madagascar. I exchanged it directly from Dr. Federico Pezzotta who collected it while doing research there. It features an excellent quality, 1.5 cm, very sharp, lustrous, prismatic, hexagonal ruby crystal with gorgeous and classic, pigeons blood-red color perched smartly on a wedge of schist matrix. The UNRETOUCHED backlit photo highlights the gemminess and gorgeous color saturation. rather aesthetic example! Retail value is $800-1000.
