Item Description
Mineral specimens from this extinct, obscure corundum mine (mined for abrasives) are RARE, indeed. A 2.8 cm, doubly terminated, tapered, lavender crystal (sapphire?) dominates this showy and rich plate. The lustrous crystals exhibit typical layering. Smaller crystals and crystal sections are very richly scattered on all sides of the muscovite schist matrix. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased from the discoverer directly (Bart Cannon of Seattle), right after he collected it in 1980, according to Bob's label. Choice, rich and rare material. A must for the species of locality collector. Value???
