Item Description

Classic and sculptural Riverside County corundum. A 8.3 cm bluish-gray tapered hexagonal corundum crystal is astutely set on the sculptural gneiss matrix on this excellent small cabinet from Soboba Hot Springs. These specimens were collected by the Gochenour brothers in the late 1990s at this remote locality. The crystal has several clean repairs, which is typical and common for these pieces. Ex Bill Larson Southern California Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. A fine matrix California corundum, as specimens of this quality only come from recycled collections now. Valued $1250-1500
