Item Description

This sculptural bubbly crust of metallic-gray coronadite botryoids is from a small find around 2010 from the well-known Rosh Pinah Mine, famous for excellent orange and yellow barite specimens. Coronadite is uncommon Pb-Mn oxide. These were previously described as romanechite, but Raman spectroscopy, PXRD and EDS showed the species to be coronadite (Bruce Cairncross). Excellent, rare and desirable material.
