Item Description

Originally, these pieces were sold as Romanechite, but Raman spectroscopy, PXRD and EDS analysis done by Bruce Cairncross showed the species to be Coronadite. This attractive miniature specimen features fine silvery-grey to bronze colored botryoids of this rare lead manganese oxide measuring up to 3 mm sitting on matrix. Very attractive up close and good quality for the species. If you collect minerals from Namibia or general rarities, these pieces are hard to find on the market now, and certainly worth picking up as they are some of the nicest botryoidal Coronadites around which compare quite favorably with the classic pieces from the Tsumeb Mine.
