Item Description

Dramatic and colorful mounded specimen of Cornetite from the famous Type Locality. Intensely sparkly spherical aggregates of beautiful variable rich blue microcrystals cover the piece and are nicely complemented on one side with sprinkled florets of tiny green Malachite crystals. Cornetite is a rare Cu-phosphate. Patches of black Heterogenite, rare Co-oxide and deep sky-blue Chrysocolla on the other side are additonal super acessories on this very rich and showy Cornetite combination from the extinct copper Star of the Congo Mine, worked intermittently for specimens. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. Valued at $750-1000.
