Close to a thousand mm-size Cornetite crystals populate this plate of shale from The Star of Congo mine. Cornetite is a rare, hydrated copper phosphate, and these crystals have exactly the deep blue color and outstanding luster that you would hope for. Not dramatic, but certainly rich.
