Item Description

A sharp, lustrous, brown, orthorhombic, cordierite crystal is jauntily attached to a bit of muscovite schist on this rare and showy specimen from a very uncommon New Hampshire locale in the White Mountains. The pinacoid termination is nearly pristine, with only modest edge contacting at the matrix. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection and self-collected in 1992, according to his label. Valued at $400. these are outstanding crystals for the species and this locale is world famous for such pieces.
