Item Description

Cordierite is one of those species condemned to exist in only ugly specimens of largely crude crystals. Here, however, is a super-sharp and very interesting thumbnail crystal. The moderately lustrous, mottled brownish-gray crystal looks twinned and has a striking stepped termination. It almost looks like the two outer crystals grew around the taller, inner crystal! A very nifty and uncommon crystal from this obscure French roadcut locale. Ex Ken Canning and Ernie Schlichter Collections. valued $250
