Coral along with such things as bone, pearl and amber is one of the few organic gems in the world. These stones are cut and polished to bring out their rich color as they often have a very dull matte luster when they are found. Here we have a lovely necklace filled with dozens of round beads of rich orange-red color coral measuring from 3.30 mm up to 6.40 mm in diameter. The stones are quite evenly matched in terms of color and consistency of the hue. Please note that the stones have most likely been stabilized to help maintain its glowing warm hue, which is a common and completely accepted practice in the gem world.
