Well-crystallized copper specimens are RARE from this historic old mining district and this is an outstanding and very rich specimen. Extremely sharp crystals, mostly tetrahexahedrons with some spinel-twins, have a beautiful variable patina and are strikingly festooned on all sides of the starkly contrasting, blocky, hefty, copper oxide-coated, massive copper matrix. All sides present a distinctively different perspective! The striking hoppered crystal on one end is 9 mm with the curved adjacent spinel-twin being 1.3 cm long. Superb, rich and rare old-time material from the University of Delaware Collection that came out years ago in some deaccessins. We have not seen another like this on the market and it is very hard to value, as they simply are not available for sale.
