Item Description

Mineral specimens are uncommon from this old Copper Country mine. The Baltic started in 1882 and was closed in 1931 (MINDAT). This very sculptural biomorphic floater copper specimen is composed of two impressive upright tabular copper "wings" or "sails" artistically set atop the elongated "body" of sharp to subhedral tetrahexahedral crystals. The turtle-like "head" has a club-shaped "tail" at the other end. The piece was probably found in the mine dumps and has been cleaned to bring out the rich bright patina.
