Highly sculptural and fascinating old-time 2-generation crystallized copper from Houghton County of the renowned Copper Country. Intergrown sharp to subhedral modified tetrahexahedral crystals with a beautiful rich coppery patina comprise the artistic "body" of the aesthetic two-sided small cabinet. The striking ball-like crystal at the top is 1.8 cm. Some of the larger crystals have unusual pitted faces from dissolution, especially the ball at the top. Both sides are partially covered by interesting fretworks of tiny secondary copper crystals, which includes starkly contrasting blebs of lustrous, translucent green epidote. A very showy and excellent old-time 2-generation crystallized copper combination from Copper Country.
