Item Description
Classic and sculptural thumbnail crystallized copper from the famous Cliff Mine. A 1.4 cm sharp, two-sided, tetrahexahedral crystal with a rich dark patina is jauntily perched on a stalk of smaller crystals. Bright green epidote embedded on both sides is a colorful and typical accessory. The Cliff Mine opened in 1845 and was the first mine in the district to show a profit in 1849. The mine closed in 1887. This fine cutie probably came from the dumps. Classic Cliff copper from the Ben Vone Collection.
