Copper with Malachite

Dramatic, 3-dimensional, 360-degree crystallized copper with accenting malachite coatings from this less well-known Morocco copper mine. The fantastic overall arborescent, spinel-twinned form is composed of euhedral to subhedral spinel-twins and small tetrahexahedral crystals. The malachite coatings and iron oxides add much color and contrast. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Crystallized copper specimens, in general, are rare from this copper mine and this is an outstanding and highly sculptural small cabinet example.
