Item Description
Arborescent, sculptural, 3-dimensional, two-sided, finely crystallized floater small cabinet copper from a limited 2021 find at this super-large Chinese Cu-Mo-Au deposit. The overall very aesthetic dendritic, fan-like, spinel-twinned form is composed of a myriad of sharp to rounded tetrahexahedral and spinel-twinned crystals. The dominating spinel-twinned crystal seen on both sides is 3.0 cm long. The scattered red cuprite coatings and coppery patina are fine accents. Both sides look great on this excellent piece. Copper of this style compares favorably with classics from Michigan, Bisbee, Namibia or Kazakhstan. A very fine small cabinet with dense crystallization from an unusual but important locality. This mine has been worked for hundreds of years, but we only started to see specimen preservation recently.
