Copper "wires" are VERY RARE from ANY of numerous mines of famous and historic Copper Country. This stunning, sculptural, hefty small cabinet is dramatically festooned on all sides with fantastic parallel-growth and striking nests of bright tiny copper wires. The famous Central Mine closed in 1898, but the dumps still produce fine specimens periodically. This piece may have been acid etched out of host rock due to the luster and appearance. RARE and rich wire copper from the Keweenaw. This is possibly a uniqe style of wire copper from the Keweenaw.
