Item Description
Although prehnite is common in Copper Country, sculptural and aesthetic copper and prehnite combinations are VERY RARE. Glassy spheroids and microcrystals of mint-green prehnite are richly embedded on all sides of this dramatic floater specimen. The copper, with a nice variable patina, is composed mostly of subhedral crystals, but sharp tetrahexahedrons and spinel-twins are clearly evident, especially in this striking upright portion, that has a definite biomorphic look. Richly embedded with prehnite, this section looks like Godzilla with two tiny outstrectched arms! This fantastic old-time piece is also from a very obscure Houghton County mine, making it rarer still. From an East Coast collection and valued at $1250-1500. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
